Index Partitioning
One of the most glaring mistakes at many sites is to partition the table and not partition related indexes. Index partitioning is equally or more important than table partitioning—index blocks have a tendency to get hotter than the table blocks because of high concurrency at the block level due to the smaller row length of index keys.
