It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

When I first started in security many moons ago at Oracle, it was like being the Maytag repairman in those old TV commercials, who was constantly lonely because nobody ever called him. Security used to be something only a few customers—like those in the defense department—asked about. Now, cybersecurity is not merely “front and center” but front page news. Almost every business has an IT backbone and “security critical assets”: data that is stored, retained, and analyzed by organizations because it is central to their mission.
