Workload Management, Connection Management, and Application Continuity

Managing various types of workloads is a challenging task in the Oracle RAC environment. Oracle RAC makes this process simpler by enabling you define services, which allow you to split the workload and distribute it among the available instances. You can create services and assign them to applications in order to manage workloads or groups of applications. Thus, if you have both online users and batch jobs accessing a RAC database, you can assign dedicated services specific characteristics and then assign them to the online users and the batch jobs.
