Database In-Memory Advisor

Oracle introduced Database In-Memory (DBIM) features in Oracle Database Release 12cR1 (12.1.0.2) to dramatically increase the speed of complex analytic queries. One of the significant issues that Oracle DBAs have often encountered while leveraging DBIM features is figuring out which database objects would most benefit from being placed within the In-Memory Column Store (IMCS). After a brief review of the key concepts behind DBIM, we will shift our attention to the numerous features of the latest version of the Oracle Database 12c In-Memory Advisor (IMADV) in extensive detail.
