Values:12 to operating system dependent

Default:1.1 × PROCESSES + 5

Specifies the total number of user and system sessions. The default value for this parameter is calculated to be greater than PROCESSES to allow for recursive sessions. The setting for this parameter also determines the default values of ENQUEUE_RESOURCES and TRANSACTIONS, so if the value of SESSIONS is altered, the values for these parameters should be adjusted as well. With the Multi-Threaded Server, the value of SESSIONS should be set to approximately 1.1 × total number of connections.
