The usefulness of numeric data can be obscured by the way it is represented. The human mind is certainly capable of processing numeric data represented by row after row of numbers. But when a chart or another graphical component conveys the same information, the categories, trends, and thresholds for a data set are immediately obvious and can be used to make determinations about the data much more quickly.?
