Oracle Platform Security Services (OPSS) provides a security platform for both Java Standard Edition (Java SE) and Java Enterprise Edition (Java EE) applications. As a platform-independent and application-server-independent layer, OPSS expands beyond the application server security providers to include features such as Credential Store Framework, Audit Framework, and User & Role API, which we will review in this chapter.
