Extending a Cluster for Scalability

In this section, we discuss the steps required in transforming the PricingCluster within the pricing application’s existing topology with an additional managed server. Before listing these steps, however, it is worth exploring the possible reasons behind such a change. In general, the purpose of a WebLogic Server cluster is to allow for a replication of application logic across multiple managed servers in order to allow for scalability and high availability.
