Listener Control utility commands

You can specify the following commands for the Listener Control utility

CHANGE_PASSWORD

CHANGE_PASSWORD [listener]

Changes the password on the Listener Control utility to an encrypted password. After issuing this command, the Listener Control utility prompts you for your old password (if one exists) and your new password without echoing either entry. Typically, you issue a SAVE_CONFIG command after changing the password.

EXIT

EXIT

Exits the Listener Control utility.

HELP

HELP [listener]

Displays a list of Listener Control utility commands.

QUIT

QUIT

Exits the Listener Control utility. This command is identical to the EXIT command.

RELOAD

RELOAD [listener]

Reloads the LISTENER.ORA file, so that the specifications in this configuration file are applied. In many cases, issuing RELOAD allows you to implement changes without having to stop and restart the listener.

SAVE_CONFIG

SAVE_CONFIG [listener]

Saves all changes made to the listener configuration to the LISTENER.ORA file.

SERVICES

SERVICES [listener]

Returns detailed information about database services, instances, dedicated servers, and dispatchers with which the listener interacts.

SET

SET command

Allows you to set the parameter values for the listener. If you issue the command without a parameter, it will return a list of parameters that can be set.

One of the parameters from the following list:

CURRENT_LISTENER

Specifies the default listener for all subsequent Listener Control utility commands.

DISPLAYMODE = COMPAT ...
