Populating Oracle Form Hierarchies Incrementally at Runtime

Chapter 4 described how to use hierarchical items in an Oracle Form. This chapter builds on what we have seen in that chapter. Hierarchical items are an Item type that was added with Developer 6.0. The item allows the records returned form of a Select statement to be added to the item. The items are displayed in a hierarchy similar to Forms Object Navigator or Windows Explorer. It is an excellent tool for quickly locating the desired record and drilling down into more detail.
