Sample Application System Design
The sample application developed in this book is called The Ultimate Human Resources Application (TUHRA) (pronounced “too-rah”). As discussed in the Introduction, this application uses the database objects installed in the HR schema in Oracle9i and Oracle 10g. The purpose of the application is to allow access to and modification of the data in the HR tables. The Security Administrator for the company assigns one of three application roles—user, admin, and manager—to each user by entering the user and role in a security file (described in Chapter 14).
