I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Importing projects in the web client
You can also create a new project by importing it from other systems, such as Microsoft Project (MSP), earlier versions of P6, even Excel files. As each system manages and organizes schedule data differently, care must be taken when importing. However, when receiving schedules from subcontractors or when building your historical data from a previous tool, importing is a quick route to get your data in quickly.
Tip
The best way to work with subcontractors is to request that they submit their schedules in P6 format. This way the import is simplified and the hard job of ensuring the accuracy of the data (risk) lies with the subcontractor and not you.
