Chapter 6. Resources

Resources are the entities that make the activities happen. They are the people doing the work, the equipment used, and the materials consumed. You can make a schedule without resources, using only activities and the logical dependencies of the activities. However, it is typically the resources in a project that are most limited, and lack of resources is a prime reason that projects are delayed.
