CHAPTER 1Role of Self-Service Modules in an Organization

All organizations have processes that require forms to be filled out, approvals to be obtained, and then the information to be processed by other “service” departments within the organization, such as Human Resources or Accounting. These processes can be time intensive when the same data has to be rekeyed by multiple employees. A good example is expense reimbursement. Employees complete expense reports, often spreadsheet based, which are manually routed to managers for approval, and then to accounting for policy compliance and ultimate payment.
