Playing with the ZFS swap
One of the toughest jobs in Oracle Solaris 11 is to calculate the optimal size of the swap area. Roughly, the operating system's virtual memory is made from a sum of RAM and swap, and its correct provisioning helps the application's performance. Unfortunately, when Oracle Solaris 11 is initially installed, the correct swap size can be underestimated or overestimated, given that any possible mistake can be corrected easily.
