Logging on to SQL*Plus

SQL*Plus is launched by selecting the SQL*Plus option from the Windows program palette, displayed in Figure 2.1.

If you have installed Oracle and you do not see an option on the menu palette, you may have to locate the SQL*Plus executable. This executable has different names, and it can be located in different directories. It is sometimes located in an “orant\bin\” or “\orawin95\bin” directory. The filename will begin with PLUS followed by a version number. The Windows version will end with a W. The MS-DOS command-line version does not have a W.
