Exception Handling

When a problem, error, or abnormal condition occurs in a code block, the focus of the program is shifted to the exception section. Oracle moves through the statements within this section, looking for an exception handler—a structure that provides Oracle with directions that should be followed for a particular error. If Oracle cannot find an exception handler, the procedure will be terminated abnormally, and all work that the procedure completed will be rolled back.
