APPENDIX BOracle Streams Replication in a RAC Environment

The Streams setup in a RAC environment is not much different from the Streams setup in a single-instance database. Because of multiple nodes and instances in a RAC environment, some additional configuration details must be dealt with, as described in the following sections.

Archived Logs

The capture process can be configured as a local capture or as a downstream capture in the RAC environment. When required, the capture process needs to mine all the archived logs, so the instance that is running the capture process needs to have access to archived log threads from all the other instances on a shared file system.
