CHAPTER 5Staging and Propagation Process

As described in Chapter 4, once the capture or synchronous capture process captures the changes that satisfy the capture rules, those changes are converted into LCRs and stored in queues. The queue is an abstract storage unit used by the Oracle messaging system. These changes are also referred to as messages. Storing these messages in the queue is called staging.

Propagation is the process of copying the contents of the source queue to the destination queue.
