Tuning the Oracle VM Server System

There really isn’t a lot that you have to tune in the VM Server system. In fact, as you will see, tuning the VM Server system actually involves monitoring and adjusting the resources, rather than tweaking parameters and settings. The VM Server system is based on Xen, with Oracle enhancements, and as such is set up and ready to go when installed. dom0 is based on a stripped-down version of Linux. The next few sections provide tips on tuning the OS, network, and I/O subsystem. In this case, OS tuning includes not only software (Linux and Oracle VM tuning) but also hardware tuning as well.
