Part II of this book looks at employees; we can think of no better way to start Part II than by exploring how individuals differ, and how these differences impact the workplace. People have different hopes, fears, talents, experiences, beliefs, attitudes, and ways of thinking. You explore some of these differences in later chapters. But a lot of the differences between people can be said to boil down to personality, so in this chapter, you take a look at different theories of personality, at how personality is used in the workplace and how personality is linked to behaviour. We also discuss intelligence as another key difference between people and consider how intelligence is measured and used in the workplace.
