Knowing Oneself

So much more could be said about Dick and my relationship to him. Perhaps the most important residue of that relationship is a commitment to knowing oneself, to honest self-confrontation, and to a practical kind of wisdom based on “working the problem.” Dick never seemed to get flustered, no matter how fouled up a situation might be. His direct cutting through to the essence of the problem and his calm handling of it will remain with me forever as a model of how to conduct oneself in an increasingly turbulent world. Thanks for that, Dick.
