Author Biographies

Karen Lee Ashcraft is Professor of Communication at the University of Colorado Boulder. Her research examines how gender interacts with race, class, sexuality, and more to shape organizational and cultural politics. She has studied organizational forms, occupational identities, and affective dynamics in contexts ranging from non-profit human services to commercial aviation to academic labor. Her work has appeared in such venues as Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Review, and Communication Theory. Her new book, Wronged and Dangerous (Bristol University Press, 2022), demonstrates how aggrieved white masculinity animates the global spread of right-wing populisms and considers what can be done about it. ...
