9 CONCLUDING COMMENT
At the outset of this book we commented on the perceived imbalance between strategic thinking on the one hand and resilience thinking on the other. For instance, there are more hits in search engines when one searches for 'strategy' compared to when one searches for 'resilience'. If such an imbalance exists it is troublesome. Many strategies are impeded or fail completely because of creeping or unexpected sudden disruptions that strategists did not account for. It is vital that resilience thinking is incorporated into the process of strategic decision-making and its implementation in reality. And it is vital that researchers account for resilience when investigating the role of strategy in organizational life and performance. ...
