Add an E-mail Account
Before you can send and receive e-mail messages, you must add your e-mail account to the Mail application. Your e-mail account is usually a POP (Post Office Protocol) account supplied by your Internet service provider, which should have supplied you with the account details. You can also set up web-based e-mail accounts with services such as Hotmail and Gmail. A web-based account is convenient because it enables you to send and receive messages from any computer. If you have an Apple ID, you can also set up Mail with your Apple account details.
