Life History Interviews

Recruitment

The women we interviewed were drawn from two sites: the New York Tri-state area and the Charlotte/Atlanta region. The main reason for these sites was the location of the researchers at the time the research was undertaken. We used a two-tier recruitment process.

First, because our focus was on understanding the women’s life journeys, we used sources that would lead us directly to women managers. Thus, we contacted a number of women’s professional organizations for their assistance in locating women to participate in our study.
