It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 11. RTP and RTCP
Now that you are familiar with how CODECs function, this chapter builds on this knowledge by examining the resulting packet streams. This involves a detailed look at the format and use of the Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) and its sister protocol, Real-time Transport Control Protocol (RTCP). Also in this chapter you will see how other functionality introduced in the previous chapter applies to real call flows. This functionality includes dual-tone multiple frequency (DTMF) relay and the transmission of Voice Band Data such as facsimile and modem transmissions.
