Customizing Brushes

The ‘Choosing Brushes’ chapter looked at the wide range of ready-made brushes available in Painter 12, but even with all these varieties it is still often necessary to customize them to get exactly the brush strokes required.

It is worth remembering that often the only difference between one brush and another is a few settings in the Brush control panels.

The best way to customize a brush is to find one of the standard brushes nearest to the one you want and change some of the options to fine-tune the brush. You can then save the new variant for future use.
