Chapter 8. adb: The Gory Details

So far, we’ve touched on a few of the adb commands without telling you much about how it all works. The absolute debugger is not highly sophisticated, but it does have a varied and powerful command set. adb allows you to examine and modify both the contents of memory and the actual data and code in programs.

In this chapter, we’re going to discuss many of the adb commands. While your UNIX system might have come with excellent adb documentation, not all do. We hope that this chapter will help you recognize and understand the adb commands we will be using throughout this book and the adb commands used in the adb macros that you’ll find on your own system.
