3 Second- and Higher-Order Linear Partial Differential Equations
In the previous chapter, we studied first-order linear and non-linear partial differential equations with some solution methods. In this chapter, we shall discuss the concept of second- and higher-order linear partial differential equations. We shall define homogeneous kinds of partial differential equations that are linear with constant coefficients. We introduce two solutions namely complementary functions and particular integrals and their addition will become the complete solution of the given problem.
