Although I appreciate having a well-defined organizational structure for my images on the hard drive and find star rating an excellent method for culling my images so that I can quickly see the best from a shoot, I find Lightroom’s collections to be the key to organizing my images into projects, whether they’re books, portfolios, or slideshows. Using collections, you can assemble an unlimited number of groups of images without ever moving or duplicating the originals on the hard drive.
