Chapter 24. Sharpening and Noise Reduction

The bad news is that regardless of the camera and lens that you are using, some degree of sharpening will be needed to make your images look their best. In addition, if you make photographs in low light (using a high ISO), the camera sensor is susceptible to producing distracting noise in the image. The good news is that Lightroom has simplified these processes for us, providing solutions for sharpening as well as noise reduction in the Details panel.

Sharpening Basics

The Details panel controls the amount of capture sharpening added to a photograph. Capture sharpening should not be confused with output sharpening
