Getting the Right Mindset
The good news is that provided your technical knowledge is okay, you’ll almost certainly pass the second time around. That good news is related to the point I made earlier in this chapter that many people fail because of exam strategy problems such as timing out, rather than because they don’t understand PRINCE2 and how to use it.
I read on the back of a matchbox once, ‘Experience is what you get when you’re looking for something else.’ I like that, because often it’s so very true. If you’ve failed a PRINCE2 exam, you were indeed looking for something else: you were looking to pass. You didn’t pass, but don’t underestimate the value of that experience when tackling the exam again. You’ll be in a better position next time and have a significantly increased chance of success.
