CHAPTER 5THE CORPORATE INVENTOR’S ROLE
Earlier we discussed how inventorship is determined—whoever contributes to the conception of the invention is an inventor. No one else is an inventor, no matter how important she is or how much she has been involved in your project.
There are many pieces that have to come together to make a great product, however, and coming up with ideas is only part of the inventor’s role. For one thing, most important products require numerous patents if they are to be adequately protected, so don’t turn off your creativity just yet. We’ll talk more about how to improve upon ideas in order to build better and more strategically important inventions in Parts 2 and 3.
