It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

The Repository used in this product mappings is IBM Cloudscape, which is
provided with WebSphere Process Server. In production, the Repository is more
likely to run on a production-ready database such as DB2 Universal Database.
The Process Manager uses the Service Component Architecture (SCA) to invoke
Web services provided by the target applications running on WebSphere
Process Server. We implemented the target applications as processes and used
the Service Component Architecture to expose them as Web services. We could
have chosen WebSphere Application Server to implement the target application
services, or for that matter any application server that provides Web services,
such as Microsoft .NET.
