PIM is about designing, writing, and maintaining source code in a strategic, efficient, reusable manner. However, in addition to writing the source code, there is all the file manipulation and management activity that go along with building the code and the unit tests. Figure 8-1 gives you a rough idea of the scope of the file management activities that are involved in creating and maintaining an embedded systems project.
