Introduction

Much like the circulatory system within the human body, data has become the lifeblood of modern business feeding the vital organs of organizations (see Figure 3-1). These vital organs need to be continually fed with good quality data and be physically protected from harm:
  • Skull

  • Rib cage

  • Pelvis

Similar to the circulatory system, the importance of this infrastructure is often not appreciated and remains unseen.
