Chapter 21. Introducing LiveCycle Designer
Welcome to the section on LiveCycle Designer (LCD). We have covered lots of information relating to Acrobat forms in the preceding chapters. Now we begin to focus on the additional form design tool available to PDF form designers, LiveCycle Designer. In this chapter, we explore the differences between Acrobat Forms and LiveCycle Designer Forms. It is important to understand the advantages and limitations in the two programs. If you are unsure which program you want to use to design your PDF forms, reading this chapter should help shed some light on which tool is better for you and the project you're working on.
Both Acrobat and LiveCycle Designer are capable of creating great PDF forms. We feel that one product is not better than the other; each has its strengths and weaknesses. This topic can cause very heated debates between PDF forms designers. Many designers do have a strong preference when designing their forms. We hope to provide you with enough unbiased information that you are able to make your decision an educated one.
