Sally appeared at the door of my office and wiped tears from her eyes with a tissue. “Come in and have a seat,” I said. She sat down and tears began to flow more heavily. I handed her a box of tissues and remained silent. After a couple of minutes, she looked up and said, “Thanks for letting me come in without an appointment.
