Abstract
This chapter describes the architectural framework and functions of operations and business support systems (OSS/BSS) proposed by industry organizations including International Telecommunication Union-Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T), and TM Forum. These business critical systems are a large and complex group of IT applications and provide automation or mechanization of multitude of activities before and after an access service request (ASR).
