Chapter 3: I Love My Bits – Lab Setup
So far, we have been mostly configuring the connectivity of the network. Now, we'll take it to the next level. In this chapter, we are going to configure a simple program and use the software installed on the Windows 7 virtual machine (VM) to physically change the I/O on the PLC. This will pass through the VM interface, through the virtual switch, to the physical adapter. Then, it will pass to a physically managed switch and out to the PLC. This chapter will expand on the lab that we started to set up earlier in Chapter 2, Routing the Hardware.
