PART IIntroduction

In 1987 Dave Duffield and Ken Morris founded PeopleSoft. Duffield and Morris set out to develop a non-specific database application based on client/server architecture, and within a year they released the starting point for PeopleSoft’s outstanding application suite: PeopleSoft Human Resource Management System (HRMS).

Duffield’s background in HRM systems dates to his time as CEO of Integral Systems—the first company to offer DB2-based human resource and accounting systems.
