You can gather the appropriate performance information for router processors through MIBs or through the command-line interface (CLI) via Telnet or rsh. We will look at both methods, as well as explain what the highlighted variables indicate, why they are useful, and how to manage the resulting factors. We will also identify some starting point thresholds to set and watch for when monitoring performance.
