Opening Vignette
A marketing division in a food company consists of three marketing teams. One team continually fails to meet team goals and exhibits low job performance. Other workers regard the team members as distrusting of their manager because the team manager always points out team problems. However, the leader in the marketing division thinks that team members do not possess sufficient knowledge and skills to meet their goals. Thus, the leader decides to provide the team members with one week of training. Despite the training, however, the team fails to achieve its goal.
