1 Introduction
In the summer of 2009, my wife, our son and I decided to take up tennis. We decided that it would be a good way to get some exercise and stay fit. But we also knew ourselves. We knew that if we merely decided that we would play once in a while, it would never happen. So we decided to hire a tennis coach who was given the daunting job of taking three people, at different ages, with differing levels of natural abilities, and turning them into passable tennis players.
