Material-Handling Models
19.1 Introduction
Materials handling deals with the movement of materials between work centers. Such movement may be manual or by machinery (e.g., overhead cranes, forklift trucks, robots, automated guided vehicles [AGVs], and conveyors). Simulation models are useful for identifying possible bottlenecks in a materials-handling system.
