With the conclusion of the performance appraisal discussion—including the employee’s signing the appraisal form to indicate that he has reviewed it—and scheduling a performance planning meeting to set goals and discuss any changes in key job responsibilities and competencies for the next year, the performance appraisal process is completed.
However, in almost every organization there is some linkage between the performance appraisal system and the compensation system.
