Interviews
C. Bird Microsoft Research, Redmond, WA, United States
Abstract
Interviews are a valuable technique in software engineering research, as they allow perhaps the most direct contact with those we are studying. In this chapter, I discuss the research contexts in which interviews may be most beneficial and give a high level overview of the different steps required in interview research. Along the way, I provide tips and best practices from my team at Microsoft Research.
