The Ability to Influence Other People
Influence is the highest form of persuasion. Why? With influence, people take action because they are inspired by your overall makeup, rather than by your external actions. Persuasion is what you do or say (i.e., techniques, people skills, laws of persuasion), but influence is who you are. How do you gain influence? How do you develop yourself to the point that people will act simply because an idea came from you? How do you ensure that your influence continues to compel people even when you’re not around? In my studies, I have found that great persuaders possess most (if not all) of seven essential characteristics of the ability to influence others:
Charisma
Passion
Empathy
