Planning and Structuring
One of the hardest aspects of writing is getting started. Equally difficult is knowing when to stop. I’m aiming to keep this book brief, so if it goes much over 40,000 words you’ll know that I can’t teach you anything on this second point.
This chapter will introduce simple techniques to use when planning your writing; structures to help you present information; and the phases to go through to ensure a timely final draft. It will consider:
- Planning, drafting and editing
- Readability statistics
- Document structures.
